What am I seeing?
Device Manager displays an exclamation point for the SMBus controller or lists it under Other Devices.
How to fix it
Download and run the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility so Windows* properly recognizes the SMBus controller.

I've already re-installed the chipset drivers which from what I hear includes the driver for the SM Bus controller, but I still lack the driver software. A simple diagnostic scan or driver update searches don't help me at all. I reformatted my laptop and have had some trouble getting the drivers to work on it.
I have downloaded the driver a number of times, and it will not take. I have also attempted to just update the driver from the device manager to no avail.
I also tried reformatting again and installing the drivers in the order which dell recommends. I had trouble getting the JMicron flash media controler driver to install, but that was about it.
